Are any of these authors YOUR ancestors? Books found on Ebay 9 January 2010.
Family Member contacts the Society. A direct descendant of the Cave family featured in photographs on the gallery page contacted us with valuable information and a poem which was written especially for The Homecoming - an event associated with the Boer War. Many thanks to the contactee, you know who you are! :) The poem to welcome home Robert Gale Cave to the village of Sturminster Marshall after the Boer War.
When knives were made of genuine steel
The makers stamped their name,
When Men are born of British blood
It is of world wide fame.
And here is one of England's sons
I'd change him for no other
For he was loyal to the Queen
A Soldier and a Brother.
Robert Gale Cave, we honour thee
And all would thee embrace,
But now to God be lasting praise
We sing Thy wondrous grace.
